At last the wait is over and KBC 6 has marked its commencement from 7th September, 2012 at 8.30 PM. A Grand Opening episode started with a renowned Bengali patriotic song “Ekla Chalo Re” written by Rabindra Nath Tagore. The song was sung by Amitabh Bachchan in his familiar baritone and was composed by famous music directors Salim and Suleiman. Big B was also accompanied by top four “Indian Idol” contestants and Shillong Chamber Choir. There was also a spectacular dance performance choreographed by Remo D’Souza and performed by his dance group on the song. A new concept has been introduced with “Aapki Baat Aapke Sath” where contestants who make it to “Hot Seat” will pour their hearts out via a video footage.
Kanwar Singh from Amritsar became the very first contestant of this season. Stories of post success of previous year contestants were shown through a video footage which shows how their lives changed after KBC 5. Sushil Kumar, the ultimate crorepati of KBC 5 also made appearance with Amitabh Bachchan and shared his experience with other contestants. A new member named ‘Sui Mui’ has also been introduced which according to Amitabh Bachchan is the daughter of Ghariyal Babu and Srimati Tik Tiki.
